"I saw him as a giant"

I remember being wowed by Professor Lowi through his writings and his lectures and I saw him as a giant among the leaders of Cornell’s amazing Government program. I still have his textbook on my bookshelf. His teaching helped me develop a framework for thinking about how we, as citizens, participate in government and what government’s responsibilities can and should be. I now contribute a lot of volunteer time to political advocacy on behalf of cancer patients through which I think I’m putting to good use the perspective I absorbed as a government major at Cornell.
